- Saturday, July 6th
- 9:00am - 10:00am
- Upper detention basin
***Change of plans! The detention basin is currently full of water, so we cannot clean out the pipe. Surprisingly, it seems to be functioning correctly as water is flowing out of the end of the pipe. However, the berm around the basin is in need of a haircut. So please join us at 9:00am (new time) to clear a path around the berm. Please wear long sleeves and pants. Gloves if you have them. And bring any tools for clearing (weed-eaters, axes, pruners, machetes.) Should only take an hour. ***
Original post below:
The upper detention basin is currently clogged and holding water. We will spend a little time using shovels and pitch forks to clear the pipe that allows water to drain. With four or five volunteers, it will only take an hour or so. We can start as early as 8:00am, to beat the heat, or a little later if needed.
The upper detention basin is reached by walking down the trail which begins off Harris Road just after Quince Lane. It's about 100 yards down the path.
Please post below if you are able to help. You can also email contact@willoughbyneighborhood.org.
