Are you dumping yard debris in the common area? If so, please stop.
Please realize that this post is not meant to be antagonistic in any way. I'm hoping to address a problem, but to do so in a positive tone. The goal is to improve our neighborhood.
Several places around the neighborhood have become unofficial dumping areas. It's unsightly and creates an area for snakes, wasps, and other vermin to live. One area of particular importance is around the large playground where children play. Obviously it is dangerous.
An arborist has been contracted to clear several of these areas, at a cost of over $1000 to the neighborhood; a cost which we hope to avoid in the future. Also, "No Dumping" signs have been placed at various places throughout the community to build awareness of the problem. Hopefully, these signs will be temporary, assuming dumping stops.
If you notice anyone dumping yard debris (including branches, leaves, and even grass clipping) in the common areas, please speak with them directly, or let me know so that I can speak with them. I'm also planning to post reminders on this site, the Facebook page, and in newsletters. If anyone has more ideas, I'd love to hear them. Let's work together to keep Willoughby looking great!
